THE PROJECT
Project:
SOUVENIR
A playful take on a neighborhood bottle shop, Souvenir draws on mid-century cues with a nod to Le Corbusier’s Cabanon — blending function, color, and a little irreverence. The goal was to create a space that allowed the product to shine while still inviting people to linger, listen to records, and feel at home.
Big moves included curved walls with integrated fridges, a colorful patchwork-painted ceiling, and a sculptural, undulating copper-clad counter that anchors the room. In the back, a circular porthole cutout frames views to the creek beyond, creating a quiet moment of pause and adding a bit of architectural whimsy.
The palette mixes sapele wood, plaster, redwood, limewash, stained glass, and warm copper accents throughout. The result is a small but highly considered space that balances minimalism with a sense of discovery.
