THE PROJECT
Project:stillwater
One of our earliest projects, Stillwater laid the foundation for much of the design language that continues to inform our work today: warm, minimal, tactile, and inviting. Drawing from Scandinavian influences and West Marin’s natural palette, the space brings together a mix of locally sourced woods, textures, and simple materials.
Plaster walls, copper backsplashes, and handblown wall lights with copper detailing layer alongside a variety of woods—cypress, elm, redwood, cedar, cottonwood, and Douglas fir. The custom waterfall tables, made from cottonwood slabs salvaged from fallen trees in West Marin, remain a favorite element.
Working within a modest budget, every material choice was intentional, balancing refinement with restraint and highlighting the natural variation of each surface.
